Explore precious metal clay and polymer clay, in combination with polymer painting, printing, and inlay techniques. Make unique textures and use printed and painted paper and richly colored polymer collages. With a focus on individual design, you will make many samples, construct work in PMC, and use materials such as fibers, gold leaf, and found objects. You will learn rudimentary metal/jewelry working techniques (riveting, hammering, patinas) to bring it all together. Metal clay experience recommended. Download Materials List.

Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild Mini-Retreat

Sat. 1 Feb, 2014 10:00 am - Sat. 2 Feb, 2008 4:00 pm

Join the Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild for our Annual Clay Day and Chili Lunch – now bigger and better! We’ll be meeting on Saturday, February 1 and Sunday February 2 at LeMoyne Art Education Center. Cost is $20 per person to cover facility rental, incidentals, and lunch on Sunday. We will probably  limit to 20 attendees. Regional Guild members and friends are encouraged to attend!

We will get underway around 10 AM each day. Saturday we’ll end around dinnertime, Sunday around 4 or 5 PM so there’s time for cleanup.

Barb will make a pot of chili (turkey) for our lunch on Saturday and we’ll have a signup for other items such as  coffee cake, green salad, rolls or cornbread, iced tea/soda, desserts and snacks.

We’ll go out as a group for dinner on Saturday (separate checks).

Sunday lunch we’ll bring in deli sandwiches.

Bring whatever you want to work on for projects and we will schedule 2-3 demos each day. If you are interested in demonstrating a technique or project, let us know.

We will have ovens available for curing.
