San Diego Polymer Clay Guild Sandy Camp XVIIII “Steampunke Fantastique Extravaganza” October 04-08, 2016Crowne Plaza Resort San Diego, CA The 19th annual Sandy Camp will be held at the newly renovated Crowne Plaza in the Mission Valley area of San Diego. Our theme this year is “Steampunke Fantastique Extravaganza” come explore, create, learn and wonder all the possibilties of Polymer Clay. We have 8 formal demos over the 5 days and lots of informal sharing in our indoor work area. There will be an optional Featured Artist Class by Judy Summers. On Saturday evening our Family Feast will be held outdoors in a tropical courtyard, followed by the event everyone waits for: the Opportunity Drawing!! Come play and have fun with us, All are Welcomed. Relax in the many Atriums and by the Waterfalls. Take a shuttle to enjoy the food, culture and art of Old Town, if you have time. Surface Effects Bootcamp for Polymer Clay

Curious about ‘surface design techniques’ on polymer? Want to expand your polymer toolkit and try something new? Art on the Farm, a series of polymer workshops that take place in the tranquil green hills of Vermont, is holding “Surface Effects Bootcamp for Polymer Clay” this fall, October 11-13, 2017. This 3-day retreat will teach you to how to make polymer veneer sheets using vibrant color from paints, pastels, inks and other mediums and a variety of texture plates and molds to make unique and one-of-a-kind beads, jewelry elements and other 3-D projects. Students will have unlimited use of the instructor’s extensive collection of pastels, paints, inks and other colorants. You’ll also learn how to make your own unique molds and texture plates. Coaching with color choices and jewelry design will be provided and you’ll come away with the confidence and skills to tackle projects on your own. This is a technique-oriented class—you can work on any projects that you choose—earrings, pendants, mixed media.
