Polymer clay is the perfect medium for creating these small, house-shaped shrines. In this technique-driven class, students will be making all of the component parts of their shrines by stamping into clay and making personalized tiles. We will cover rubber stamping, painting, embedding, gold leaf, collage, transfers, embossing, beading and mosaic. This is the class where you get to use all that stuff you've been collecting over the years!
Hearts are one of my favorite symbols and in this workshop we will create embedded heart pendants using polymer clay as the foundation. Polymer clay is an extremely versatile medium that is ideal for embedding all sorts of things, including metal, beads, jewelry pieces, paper, and buttons. The basics of stamping into polymer clay and painting will be covered as well.

This foundation class is all about exploring the endless possibilities of polymer clay by focusing on the process of tile making. Tiles will be painted, powdered, stamped, embedded, collaged, transferred, layered, embossed and gold leafed. I will also share techniques for altering commercial tiles. By the end of class you will have a gorgeous set of tiles that can be used in mixed-media mosaics or a variety of other art projects.

In this non-traditional approach to quilt making, we will use polymer clay to create individual quilt squares. Each square will have an intricate design, leading to an overall beautiful, jewel-like quilt. Myriad mixed-media techniques will be explored, including using molds, stamping, painting raw clay, mica and embossing powders, gold leaf, beading, and embedding metal, fabric, paper, and jewelry into the clay.
